North Georgia Christian Camp has been committed to providing a quality Christian camp in a loving, caring, and safe environment for over 50 years. The camp exists to be an extension of the local church, offering opportunities for all ages to learn, grow in the Lord, and be challenged to serve Him. The ministry of North Georgia Christian Camp began in 1966 when a few men became aware of the need for a specific ministry to the youth of this area. They envisioned a summer program where these youth could come together for the purpose of learning about Jesus Christ and His great gift of abundant life. In June of that summer, the first camp was held at Unicoi State Park. The two week program was a great success. Over the next four years the camp ministry continued to grow, meeting at various places. In 1971, a wonderful, devoted Christian woman, Lora Kiss, donated 43 acres to be used as a permanent Christian camp facility. The camp buildings were erected and completed in late summer of 1972. The first camp season on the new campground of North Georgia Christian Camp was held that August. Since 1972 the camp has flourished. The camp currently provides 17 summer camping events, as well as fall and spring retreats for all ages. Over the years, renovations have been made and new structures have been added. The summer camp ministry now reaches over 900 children, ranging from Kindergarten to 12th grade. The camp ministry has expanded to include opportunities for everyone, year round. However, through all the years, the objective has never changed.
